The incident began when Carlos Asad and a minor, both of Bridgeport, stole an SUV in Bridgeport and then robbed a woman at gunpoint at Walgreens in Fairfield, police said.

The two then headed to a Fairfield Avenue deli, and robbed the business, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.

They then proceeded to attempt to rob a McDonald's on State Street wearing masks and with a gun, but an undercover officer spotted the two and they took off in the stolen SUV, Jones said.

A police pursuit then began and ended at the PT Barnum Housing Complex, police said.

Police say the two attempted to escape capture but were eventually taken into custody.

Asad is charged with engaging police in pursuit, inferring with an officer and larceny.  He's being held on $25,000 bond.

The minor was issued a juvenile summons, police said.
